Global Care is the social justice and disaster relief arm of International Network of Churches (INC).

The vision of Global Care is to see individuals supported and communities transformed by the power of mates helping mates.

Global Care operates primarily through local churches, linking them with their communities. RiverCity Church over the past few years has developed a food distribution centre in Cowper, Taree. Global Care food bank has around 800 members that are able to access a variety of foodstuffs at a very affordable cost. Global Care also helps people at a point of crisis with food hampers.  With a referral from Centrelink these hampers are supplied at no cost. Money that is raised goes back to help secure the purchase of future stocks. This project has been an incredible support for low income families.14572612_10154612674003824_832436855_o At a national level Global Care has been at the forefront of some of Australia’s worst disasters, like the bushfires in Victoria, flooding in Queensland and the cyclones in the far north. Global Care has been involved in the cyclone that swept Vanuatu and the earthquake in Nepal. RiverCity has been involved with raising funds to go towards the National Disaster Relief fund. This fund was set up in preparation for any future event where people will need to be supported in a time of crisis.
